"Sensing began as a collection of electric guitar sketches, recorded in the Spring of 2022. I returned to the material again and again throughout the year, listening. I brought my portable recorder with me on weekly bike rides along Mill Creek, gathering sounds, place-memories, environmental occurrences… re-contextualized and transformed by the recording device and software manipulation. I improvised by the Sevenmile Creek near my home with sticks, leaves, and natural debris. I layered these recordings with the guitar and painted over with synthesizer until fluid form emerged. Sensing is a continuation of the sound of Blanket Swimming, everchanging and flowing. It is my hope that these pieces may offer you a moment of reflection and an opportunity to become immersed in the imaginative realm."
