Arioso is a two-part exploration into loop-based composition recorded in the Winter of 2020/21 in Cork. The pieces were built upon fragments of a string quartet's performance of an arioso, breathing new life into mostly forgotten melodies.

These hopeful, yet melancholic audio programmes indulge in repetitive gestures that swell like tears from rising tides against concrete car parks on a cold, rainy night as the city drifts into sleep. The illusion of perpetuity is presented on the surface until one lets go into the ephemeral moment, realizing that there is nothing to grasp on to. Each moment presents what happens. Through repetition one may realize that each cycle is never the same, fleeting, yet lingering still even after the music has faded away. "The temporality of an instant may radiate the twinkle of eternity."
