The final stop on my Winter 2024 mini tour was the Firehouse Community Arts Center in Birmingham. Opening sets were performed by The Slippery Dish, Subhymnal, and Fledaron. As the show was promoted as a "noise night," I followed suit with a very loud and noisy rendition of Awake In The Grip Of The Snake from the album Dawn Of The Amber Fount. The opening field recording was recorded on a hike in Colorado, in a windy mountain pass. The bass line was dubbed to a cassette and played back, while all other elements of the piece were performed/re-created using organelle, korg volca fm, and a mountain dulcimer, all running through the Hologram Microcosm and Strymon Nightsky.

This set was performed at a high volume, and the feedback danced, swirled, and reflected around the room creating unique harmonics. I became lost in the sound and ended up droning on for much longer than planned. I recommend playing this recording loud!
